KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia—Former Prime Minister Najib Razak, who was convicted of corruption last year for his role in one of the world’s largest financial scandals, withdrew his request for a multimillion-dollar property from the Malaysian government after it sparked a clash in parliament a day earlier.

A budget hearing broke into debate on Thursday as opposition lawmakers questioned the country’s finance minister over reports about the property, which Mr. Najib said he was entitled to under a remuneration law for members of parliament.
