The World Economic Forum said it would delay its annual meeting in Davos as the spread of the Omicron variant made it too difficult to deliver a global in-person event.

The conference had been scheduled to take place in the Swiss town in January and is now planned for early summer, organizers said Monday. WEF didn’t give a new date.

WEF said it would instead hold a series of online sessions. The Davos meeting is typically attended by thousands of executives and politicians.
